Prema Vahini Chapter 15 and 16 - Study Circle Notes - Sai Bingo

Sairam.

Chapter 15 — Eschew Selfishness, Conceit, and Pride

Ego blocks spiritual joy.

Selfish desires for power, status, and possessions create constant dissatisfaction.

All abilities ultimately come from the Divine; claiming them as “mine” produces ego.

True spirituality shows up as truth, love, patience, kindness, and gratitude.

Ego hides the natural light of the Atma, like mist hiding the sun.

Remove ego and selfishness; the innate bliss of the Self naturally shines.

Chapter 16 — Avoid Argumentation and Exhibition of Scholarship

Practice matters more than intellectual display.

Scriptural knowledge without lived practice is spiritually empty.

Scriptures guide the path but cannot produce realization by themselves.

Pride in scholarship (“I know”) leads to delusion and spiritual stagnation.

Through practice, confusion becomes clarity.

Spiritual realization comes through humble practice, not debate or intellectual pride.
