Communication Update & Website Enhancements

We have altered website to match the current operations of the center.  Suggestions continue to be welcomed from everyone.

 

The Big Change

 

Anyone can post or share an announcement on our website: www.saicenter.org

Just email your announcement with a proper subject line: saicenterofnorwalk.announcements@blogger.com

Your announcement will post instantly. It can contain pictures to share, a flyer and can be formatted to your needs.

Please note announcements will be monitored by officers for Sai Center relevancy and maybe removed.

We still expect the majority of announcements to be shared by our Sai Center Servants (aka. Officers).

 

Why the Change? Purpose?

 

• Be more inclusive & match the current operations.
• Prevent “outdated” content.
• Provide an opportunity for equal prominence to each announcement – all is Swami’s work only.
• Provide autonomy to officers and members to share information on an as needed basis.
• Create a self-maintaining process of web-site updates.
• Allow better archiving and search capability of past content.
• Streamline or work and the sharing of our work with Swami’s name.

 

Summary of Changes

 

• Website will now share information as a “blog” format.  The website uses blogger.com which is a google platform.
• All news and announcement will have equal display. No one announcement is “more important” than another.
• All news and announcements will be shown in chronological order based on date posted. Self-archiving feature.
• Any officer or member can post an announcement.
• Members may share thoughts and photographs of Sai Center events that they wish to share w/ members and commemorate the experience
• The websites posts will allow easy curating of information with others outside our Center – sometimes officers need to do this with region, national, or Partthi
• Email posts can contain pictures, links, and formatted text. More sophisticated posts can be create or updates using blogger.com. To add videos, pdfs, or other files, members can send to any officer (or John) to update using blogger.com.
• Website will still have page menu (e.g. signup sheets, page for devotion, service, and additional resources). Officers will maintain those pages as required and let John know of any changes or help needed
• Center Whats App Group:  Officers only will continue to update Center members using this channel for reminders and any time sensitive events (e.g. Center impact during inclement weather, etc.)

 

Improving communications and sharing of information has proved to be of extreme importance over the years the Sai Center of Norwalk. Hence the need for a few changes. Please feel free to provide feedback or direct any questions to John.
